#SDG12 : RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION ♻️

Once again, meet Furaha Butala, a young and motivated game-changer who transforms trash into beauty in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.

The number of girls who join Furaha to pick up plastic sacks in the streets of the settlement is growing every day. The chance of having clean streets in Nakivale is increasing, an action which was appeared to be impossible a few days ago in this community.

At home, her small business begins to attract the attention of curious visitors as the creation of Super Nice branded handbags begins to take shape. Beautiful handbags made by a group of more than 20 girls, all united by the values they offer to the people of Nakivale: a clean environment free of plastic waste at street corners. A truly heroic act for a 16-year-old girl! ✊

Watch this short video filmed with @william_nakivart ‘s phone to get inspired by Furaha’s work.
