Just two weeks before Europe’s lockdown, the MANTIS FESTIVAL (UK) asked 10 workshop participants to critically-discuss “Digital Overlays” in the context of their creative practice. For instance, how Digital Overlays can be experienced as watermarks of the world and spatial media; as the aural surrounding our bodies; as meeting places between the real and the augmented; as a multi-layer device spread over or across the physical or as your digital-social self.

Falk is a PhD graduate (NOVARS Research Centre Manchester) exploring the use of molecular sonification in music composition. These explorations range from aesthetic inquiries to works concerned with political and environmental challenges such as global warming.
