On January 20, 2021, acclaimed Irish violinist Patricia Treacy was scheduled to perform live at President-elect Joseph R. Biden’s inauguration ceremony. However, due to the riots at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, Patricia was unsure if she would be cleared by Secret Service and Capitol Police.

In preparation for the potential cancellation of her performance, Patricia recorded a portion of Patrick Cassidy’s “The Proclamation” live at Chicago’s oldest public building, the 264-year-old Old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. In order to lend the performance additional weight, Patricia played the 315-year-old ‘Blagrove’ Omobono Stradivari violin valued at over four million dollars on loan from Bein & Company Rare Violins.

This is that performance.
