How amazing are
Prudence and Cruise!
♀️ These 2 decided to do our 5 day private intensive coaching program.
Where they come day after day to work and build a better relationship. Tighten up the nuts and bolts and iron out some issues they may be having.
When they arrived on Tuesday, Cruise wasn’t very interested in his flat work. Riding with a hand break on and not engaged in his work. He would threaten to kick out , duck out of his canter circle work and always take the right canter lead. Pru’s seat needed a little adjusting especially in her canter and her stop. We also worked on improving her feel and learning how to ride with her body and less with her hands /reins.
While at times feeling defeated (we’ve all been there) this team never ever gave up. Pru had amazing courage riding some difficult situations, she never got frustrated with Cruise only with herself. That’s the Mark of a true trainer in the making. (Maybe a little Amy even for all you heartland lovers out there). Early in the week her mum mentioned she always wanted to have an “Amy off heartland moment” e.g riding with her hand out while cantering. If you ask me she had a lot of these moments. She has achieved a connection with her horse that will make everything easier in the future. I can not speak highly enough of the improvement they made during the week. Teaching her horse how to back up from the wiggle of her lead rope, acing the figure 8 trot circle challenge I gave her. The sky is the limit with these two and I can’t wait to see where it takes them.
Here are some of the special moments from the week.
