During the pandemic, many family physicians have experienced profound changes to their office practice. We experienced marked declines in patient volumes, which may have led to reduced hours or lay offs for our office staff. We established office protocols for physical distancing and cleaning, and cared for patients virtually more than ever before.
This week’s webinar will discuss the practice changes we can consider as we reintroduce in-office clinical services. We will explore issues such as maintaining physical distancing guidelines in the office; the impact of elective surgeries and diagnostic imaging services being ramped up; and helping patients manage the emotional burden of the pandemic. A discussion about re-integrating medical learners into their clinical training environments is also planned.
Our panel includes Dr. Nadia Alam (family physician and former president of the Ontario Medical Association), Dr. Shirley Schipper (family physician and President of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)), and Dr. Katherine Stringer (family physician and head of the Department of Family Medicine at Dalhousie University), along with your host Dr. Jeff Sisler of the CFPC.
This session will include time for questions and will be useful for all family doctors who are returning to their full in-office practice during the pandemic. This session will be available in English only.
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning activity has been certified by the CFPC for one Mainpro+® credit.
