Dr. Kam Chana is Director of the Scientific Data and Computing Platforms group supporting research and development at Merck Research Labs. His group consists of Scientific Data Platform, High-Performance Computing, Applied Computing, and Site Reliability Engineering teams providing capabilities and platforms for data science, scientific algorithms and software engineering. In addition, his group supports capabilities for deployment engineering, instrumentation and monitoring of software, infrastructure and lab systems. His team utilizes and supports algorithms and platforms for cutting edge Data Science. Dr Chana has spoken about and is leading an initiative to develop Quantum Computing for life science R&D within Merck. Dr Chana holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and has 20+ years’ experience in scientific computing for the life sciences industry.
